The Champlain Valley Exposition Center, in operation since 1922, is the home to the Champlain Valley Fair, as well as a varied offering of music and performance. Each year, the center is also used as the headquarters and launching grounds for the Vermont Balloon and Music Festival, an event that features more than 40 colorful hot-air balloons. The center is located just west of the city center, near Fort Ethan Allen.
